We’re looking for a commercially astute director with strong new business prowess to lead the development of our data offering in the Middle East.
The M&C Saatchi consulting division represents multiple trading brands including Fluency M&C Saatchi. Fluency M&C Saatchi is an Award-Winning Data & Technology Consultancy helping blue-chip companies enhance their decision-making with diverse data, advanced analytics, and cutting-edge technology systems. Fluency trade in multiple geographies. The UK represents the most revenue/PBT contribution and then the US.
The scope of this role excludes geographies outside of the UAE and broader GCC region.
About the Role
We are looking for a director level data consultant to lead the growth of Fluency’s business pipeline in the Middle East, and to manage and expand clients in the local region. The role includes the oversight of delivery for clients in the region, working with the support of teams in London and US. Depending on the successes there will be opportunity to expand the team in the region.
The role will require:
- Strategic thinking and planning. Specifically outlining where to play and how to win. More specifically, this means clarity around Fluency’s biggest opportunities (vertical, regional, engagement type etc) with precise thinking about what we need to do access the opportunity.
- A drive and hunger for new business. This role is about accessing incremental revenue opportunities. The individual needs to have a natural ability to identify, qualify and close out new business opportunities. They are not expected to do everything on their own, but they are expected to facilitate the process, be clear about the support they need and make things happen.
- A networker and relationship builder. There’s opportunity internally and externally if the individual is able to quickly build meaningful relationships and develop and nurture a positive network.
- A data consultant’s mindset. The individual needs to be fluent in communicating the power of advanced data and insights capability set, and immediately able to creatively this thinking creatively to client challenges, and inspire potential clients to engage with us on a range of their challenges.
- Best in class stakeholder management and communication. Stakeholders need to believe in the offer, feel excited about the opportunity and see the upside. Key stakeholders are the Fluency founders, the Consultancy CEO and the UAE’s Consultancy Director. Therefore, the individual will need to provide a simple performance framework to feedback to ensure the aforementioned leadership understand the progress, opportunity and potential. We’re talking clear metrics around leads, briefs and conversions.
- Confidence and comfort being able to hit an incremental revenue target in year one, selling the products and services of an award-winning data capability.
Support for the role
To be successful, its important that the individual doesn’t feel like an island. But there’s also a reality that while they will join up with colleagues in our local offices, they are the only person working directly for Fluency in the Middle East.
NB: there is a consultancy Director in the Middle East who you will be expected to closely partner with. With this in mind, we encourage and expect the individual to be clear around the support they need from Fluency and the business will be generous in return. This includes, training, share sessions, mentorship and inclusion in team meetings where practical and appropriate. We recognise that success will come from a truly collaborative approach where challenge and outcomes are shared endeavours.

- 10+ years’ experience in advanced data and insight, and/or consulting and insight development.

- A strategic mind and vision for the bigger picture combined with a pragmatic ‘can do’ attitude to ensure we keep moving forwards at pace.
- A hunger for new business and a results driven mindset.
- A love of managing and developing client relationships.
- Demonstrable relationship and networking skills.
- Confident in prioritising own time and managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- Arabic speaker preferable
