Role Overview:
The Public Relations Communications Director will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive public relations and comms strategies to enhance the visibility, reputation, and brand image of the agency and its clients within the UAE and broader region. The role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of the sports and entertainment landscape, excellent media relations, and the ability to navigate a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic PR Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement proactive PR strategies and campaigns to achieve specific objectives for the agency and its clients.
- Identify opportunities to enhance brand visibility, build relationships with key stakeholders, and manage reputation.
- Align PR strategies with overall marketing and business objectives.
- Media Relations:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media outlets (traditional and digital) across the UAE and the region.
- Manage media inquiries, coordinate interviews, and prepare press releases and media kits.
- Secure positive media coverage for agency activities, client events, and key initiatives.
- Content Development & Messaging:
- Develop compelling and consistent messaging that resonates with target audiences.
- Oversee the creation of high-quality content for press releases, media pitches, talking points, and other communication materials.
- Event PR & Activation:
- Plan and execute PR activities for agency and client events, ensuring maximum media coverage and impact.
- Coordinate press conferences, media briefings, and other media events.
- Creative comms development:
- Creating standout narratives and creative plans for clients
- Executing creative ideas
- Thinking outside the box to present ideas to clients and prospective clients
- Digital PR & Social Media:
- Leverage digital platforms and social media to enhance PR efforts and reach a wider audience.
- Monitor online conversations and manage online reputation.
- Collaborate with the digital marketing team to ensure integrated communications.
- Crisis Communications:
- Develop and implement crisis communication plans to protect the agency and its clients' reputation in challenging situations.
- Manage media relations during crises and ensure timely and accurate communication.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, partners, industry influencers, and community organizations.
- Performance Measurement & Reporting:
- Track and measure the effectiveness of PR campaigns and initiatives.
- Provide regular reports on PR activities, media coverage, and impact.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in public relations, preferably within the sports and entertainment industry in the UAE.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful PR campaigns.
- Excellent media relations and a strong network of media contacts in the UAE.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus).
- Strong understanding of the UAE media landscape and cultural nuances.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in digital PR and social media.
