The Account Director serves as the business lead for assigned clients and, as such, is a leader within the agency. You are expected to:
- Drive a portfolio of small and large businesses independently, with little day-to-day oversight from executive leadership.
- Take full accountability for both client health and agency agenda, leading an effective relationship that delivers on agreed business goals, sets a high creative bar and supports a healthy business for the agency.
- Proactively seek out both client and internal opportunities to propel the agency forward and grow the relationship and the business as appropriate.
- Provide coaching to junior talent across disciplines and support agency leadership as needed.
- Be an ambassador for the agency, one who is passionate about our mission and feels ownership for the work we do.
What You'll Do:
- You anticipate challenges and trouble spots and know when to bring in partners or colleagues to help troubleshoot.
- You set a positive tone and foster a spirit of healthy curiosity and debate, in service of the work.
- You become an expert in your clients’ business and in our own, developing a deep understanding of their issues and concerns, relevant categories and emerging media. You share what you learn to make the team better.
- You are a strong communicator with excellent writing skills, the ability to craft a clear and persuasive argument and build a presentation
- You are an equally great listener, able to hear what is unsaid as well, with the ability to turn information into action
- You take pride in knowing how to make things happen, from resourcing the team, defining and stewarding budgets and timetables, and architecting a process that sets us up for success.
- You lead with a sense of calm, optimism, and control that inspires confidence and trust.
- You invest in building strong relationships with senior clients that engenders trust and builds an appetite for breakthrough work. Likewise, you can handle tough conversations when they are necessary.
- You manage the money like it was your own, with a keen eye for doing more with less, making sure that the agency is remunerated appropriately and keeping clear and transparent records.
- You cultivate deep relationships with strategy and creative partners; build an arsenal of breakthrough work together, rooted in trust and a shared ambition.
- You are ambitious—for yourself, our clients, the agency and our work.
- You believe that what we do is important, meaningful, and wherever possible, fun.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 10+ years as an industry leader in an agency environment preferred
- At least five years of supervisory experience and two years as a business lead
- Experience leading the creation and execution of both integrated campaigns and strategic outputs
- Strong communication skills (written and oral) and an excellent presenter that commands a room
- Organized and detail-oriented; finds satisfaction in a buttoned up and well-run operation
- A self-starting multi-tasker that can handle the pressure of several assignments at once and takes the attitude of a player/coach in contributing to the work
- Curious, resourceful and inquisitive
- Has a positive outlook and strong people skills; an exceptional team builder, leader and colleague
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and Keynote
- Extensive travel may be required

Salary is dependent on experience but ranges from: $140,000 – $165,000. All candidates must have the ability to work in the US; we are unable to sponsor any work visas for this role.
