RTR Junior Accountant
Description:
The RTR Junior Accountant contributes to the success of M&C Saatchi Group by ensuring operational finance and exceptional accounting services in a timely, efficient and effective manner. The contribution of the role to the success of the Finance team is through the provision of exceptional service and accounting support to our agencies, enabling them to manage the financial aspects of their business.
The purpose of the RTR Junior Accountant role is to assist the Senior Accountant with the day to day financial accounting and reporting duties for the Agencies within M&C Saatchi Group. The role works under the guidance of and provides support and assistance to the Senior Accountant. The role is also responsible for engaging and partnering closely with key stakeholders across the business and within the Finance team on a daily basis.
Integrity of the financial information is paramount. The role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure the financial reporting meets the audit assertions and accounting standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
FINANCIAL (80%)
- Ensure transactions recorded are technically compliant
- Ensure compliance with group accounting policies, internal controls and processes
- Preparation of month end reports including but not limited to;
- bank, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations
- fortnightly review of general ledgers, preparation of prepayments and accruals schedules
- updating and maintaining the Fixed Asset register and preparing journals
- general journal posting within timelines
- Intercompany invoicing, confirmations and reconciliations
- Assistance with preparation of monthly management accounts
- Assistance with year-end budget analysis
- Assistance with preparation of mthly/quarterly; BAS, Payroll Tax and FBT
- Support the preparation of additional requests that come from M&C Plc (Group)
- Ad hoc requests to support the Senior Accountant
- Balance sheet Reconciliation
SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES(15%)
- Providing feedback and assistance on process documentation
- Suggest process improvements to drive efficiency within the team/business
PEOPLE (5%)
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the Finance team & Agencies
- Participate and attend team meetings

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Accounting Degree ( post graduate /honours in accounting will be beneficial)
- Experience using financial ERP systems, Spectra PF (BCC) would be favourable
- > 3 years work experience in similar role
- Experience in Advertising & Media would be favourable
- Experience working in a shared service environment is desirable
