Associate Director, Performance Marketing - Search & Social

What are we looking for?
We are looking for an Associate Director, Search & Social with extensive experience Primarily across paid search channels (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, SA360) with some experience in Social Ads (Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, X, LinkedIn) who is willing to grow their expertise across additional channels and client verticals, with a keen eye for detail. The ability to meet direct-response goals will be fundamental to the Assc. Director’s success. The Search & Social team interfaces with various groups within the agency and with clients directly. By staying ahead of the curve with platforms’ ever-changing offerings and best practices, having an in-depth knowledge of clients’ business challenges, and adopting a rigorous test-and-learn mentality, the Search & Social team is responsible for delivering best-in-class campaigns and results for our clients.
What You'll Do:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects involved in managing a team of direct reports both in the US and overseas, managing paid media campaigns ranging from awareness to direct response objectives, concepting and delivering powerful campaign strategies in line with our clients’ goals, presenting key findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for leading client communication and direction from the S&S team for a large client.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Skills
- Support the Accounts Team by providing expertise on search and social channels, staying on top of news, industry updates and product alphas/betas.
- Provide insight and analysis to the Client Lead to support the development of data driven strategic recommendations
- Work closely with the Client Lead and the Strategy team to produce best in class campaign strategy, plan and rationale documents, for search and social channels.
- Be the custodian of your client's advertising presence on digital platforms & the go-to-person on all matters search and social.
- Understand what client needs are from a reporting, measurement and best practices standpoint to help advise holistically.
Operating and Technical Requirements
- Mastery in search platforms (Google Ads, Apple Search Ads, X ads, Linkedin Ads, Bing Ads, etc.), keeping up with new features, industry news and updates
- Prior experience in Paid Social platforms (Meta Ads, TikTok, Snapchat, X ads, Linkedin Ads) and ability to offer strategic input to the team and help out in-platform if needed.
- Meticulous, detail-oriented and able to QC data and operations for accuracy and compliance to catch any issues before they occur
- Strong project management and workflow organization
- Ability to analyze data and deliver insights that adds value for future campaigns
- Lead briefing process and discussions with media partners in necessary
- Review partner proposals and take the lead role in shaping them to align with campaign objectives and ensure the strategy has been fulfilled.
- Control and improve the quality of the teams’ work output.
People Management
- Manage search and social team members to ensure output meets client expectations, nurture team growth and progression over time.
- Manage a team of senior managers and associates, both offshore and in-office responsible for the hands-on execution of campaign builds and maintenance, auditing and managing their work to ensure effective implementation
- Work with client and planning team to implement all technologies that are required (ex: pixel creation, MMP integration).
- Be willing to train, mentor and provide direction to team members when needed, especially transparent, critical feedback to growth.
- Set clear KPIs’ that focus on an individual’s key behaviors and areas for improvement for measurement over time.
- Flags up any serious performance issues immediately and seek help to manage them accordingly.
Other Areas
- Take a hands-on approach to the role, using your digital platform expertise to QC or troubleshoot issues around set up or tracking where necessary.
- Stay on top of new developments in the industry and readily suggest the new technology and/or beta tests to the client.
- Meets regularly with media owners to keep up to date with the latest digital trends
